FRIENDS OF MFAL

Here is a celebration of the individuals and businesses who support Mathematics for Lifetime's work.
MFAL strives to expand the availability of professional maths Tutoring and Online courses to children and youth who need it the most.  These Friends of MFAL support us in this work.
Transforming lives.

Karen May

It’s not just about the numbers, it’s about the encouragement and the confidence MFAL students gain. Being able to gift lessons to a child who will take those skills gained into their future life – rewarding on so many levels.

There’s a quote: Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding – and that’s where MFAL is so important – help students understand – it its own way, poetry.

Craig Grant

To be the best you can be, you must strive to be effective and efficient.

This happens when you tread the path of continuous improvement.

Tutoring is multi-dimensional and has the potential to change lives positively.

It is only limited by our imagination, as there is always a better way to teach.

Rae MacDonald

As a friend of MFAL, I fully support breaking down any barriers to our rangatahi being the best they can be, now and in the future.

I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to build their numeracy skills so that they can shine in whatever field they choose.

Ben van Rooy

Though often used interchangeably, equality and equity are quite different. Equality simply means everyone is treated the same exact way, regardless of need or any other individual difference. Equity, on the other hand, means everyone is provided with what they need to succeed.

Jay Ballantyne - Friend of MFAL

I am passionate about helping to break down the barriers that prevent young kiwis from achieving their full potential in life.

By teaching kids the skills required to succeed and grow, they gain self-confidence that can be applied to many areas in life.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the changes that it can make in their lives and the role it plays in building communities. The flow-on effects are enormous.

I look forward to helping MFAL in a range of ways in the future.
